Over 20 Arrested in Operation Third Strike
The Buffalo Police Department, along with almost 30 other agencies throughout Western New York and Canada, rounded up over 20 major drug dealers in the culmination of Operation Third Strike. The raids were dubbed Operation Third Strike, because for many of the suspects it was their last chance and they now face the possibility of lengthy prison terms, including some who might face life sentences. The raids coordinated by the Buffalo Police Narcotics Squad, the DEA, U.S Attorney's Office and other agencies targeted suspects in different areas of the city. At least 20 arrests have been made, almost 20 weapons seized, including 8 shotguns, approximately $100,000 in cash was seized and 5.6 kilo's of crack and powdered cocaine plus smaller amounts of heroin, marijuana and prescription drugs.
