BPD Make Arrest in Hagen St. Homicide
BREAKING NEWS: Buffalo Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a 14 year old Buffalo girl. Late Sunday night at Buffalo Police Headquarters, Mayor Byron Brown and Commissioner H. McCarthy Gipson, announced the arrest of 17 year old Davon D. Jones of Buffalo.
Jones is charged with two counts of 2nd degree murder in connection with last Tuesday night's shooting of 14 year old Nancylia Salter. Also shot in that incident, was a 13 year old Buffalo boy. He has been treated and released from a Buffalo hospital after being struck in the arm and back area. On Saturday afternoon, Mayor Brown, Commissioner Gipson, other police officials, plus community and clergy leaders went door-to-door on Hagen Street handing out flyers and urging anyone with information to come forward regarding the deadly shooting. At Sunday night's press conference, authorities said tips from the community, helped lead to the arrest. Jones is expected to be arraigned Monday morning in Buffalo City Court.
