Suspicious Male Approaches Students near St. Mark’s School

Buffalo police are investigating an incident of a suspicious male who followed two students as they were making their way to St. Mark’s School this morning.

Police say the driver did follow two children as they were walking to the school parking lot at Amherst Street and Summit Avenue.

At some point, police say, the driver then got out of the vehicle and attempted to approach the children.

That’s when the two kids ran into school and the suspect then fled in his vehicle, according to officers.

The vehicle is described as a possible newer model Honda Accord, black, with dark tinted windows.

The driver is described as a white male, of average height and weight, with shoulder length black hair and some facial hair.

Buffalo police reported a similar incident that occurred Monday afternoon in the vicinity of Jewitt Parkway and Woodward Avenue. In that case, detectives say a 10 year old girl was followed by an individual in a vehicle after she got off a school bus and was heading home.

In both cases the vehicle has been described as a newer model, black, with tinted windows.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to immediately call Buffalo police or your local police agency.
