BPD Seek Hit and Run Vehicle Following DWI Arrest.

Buffalo police have arrested an individual in connection with a DWI incident that occurred late Tuesday night.
Police arrested a 31 year old Buffalo man and charged him with felony DWI, Fleeing from an officer, Driving without a license, Criminal possession of a controlled substance and numerous other charges.
Officers say that they observed a 2003 Ford Expedition that failed to stop at a stop sign at Oakmont Avenue and Edison and appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed just after 11pm. A short time later, police say the vehicle struck a number of other vehicles before failing to stop at another stop sign at Bailey Avenue and Oakmont and then striking another vehicle.
One person was injured, a 22 year old Buffalo male, who was treated and released from ECMC.
Buffalo police also say that a patrol car was struck while officers were on scene conducting the investigation and that the driver fled the scene. The hit and run vehicle is described as possibly a red Mercury Sable 4-door sedan.
There was minor damage to the police vehicle.

Officers from E District, Housing Unit, and Accident Investigation all assisted in the investigation.
