BPD Arrest Two in West Side Homicide

Buffalo Homicide Squad detectives have charged two suspects in connection with the murder of Rafael Martinez, 57, who's body was found on Arnold Street, near Grant Street early Wednesday morning of November 12th.
Charged with murder in the second degree are Kenneth M. Smith, 37, from Grant Street and Mahalia M. Guest, 20, of Seventh Street, Buffalo. Smith was booked by Detective Sergeant Carl A. Lundin and Detective Scott R. Malec, and Guest was booked by Detectives Timothy J. Salamone and Louis A. Cardona.
Homicide investigators worked closely with Northwest District officers who were called around 8:00 Wednesday morning, where a passerby reported finding a dead body.
Police worked around the clock, gathering evidence, and tracking down tips, leading to the two arrests.
