Operation: Riverside Renewal

Drug Raids Net 18 Arrests

Mayor Byron Brown and Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda announced today that Buffalo police and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) just completed a series of search warrants in the Riverside area of the city that resulted in the execution of 24 warrants and 18 arrests.

Operation Riverside Renewal is the latest series of coordinated raids that involved Buffalo police and other agencies throughout WNY. The raids began last Thursday May 23rd and concluded on Tuesday May 28th. The coordinated raids are the result of tips and complaints mainly from residents to the city’s 311 Call and Resolution Center.

During operation Riverside Renewal, police also confiscated four guns. Authorities also seized quantities of crack cocaine, marijuana, heroin, crystal meth and other drug paraphernalia. Also seized was over $40,000 in cash.

The search warrants that were executed included the following streets, Philadelphia Street, Sandrock Avenue, Germain Street, Condon Street, Riverside Avenue and Amherst Street.
