BPD Charge Husband in Wife's Death.

Buffalo police have located the person of interest in connection with Monday afternoon's apparent domestic homicide that occurred on Andover Avenue.

Buffalo police have arrested and charged Antoine D. Mattox, 32 years old, for the murder of Nedra E.Thomas-Mattox, 38, on Andover Avenue. Northeast District police were originally called to the scene around 3:25 Monday afternoon, and found the woman deceased in a rear bedroom of the house. Police had identified Antoine Mattox as a person of interest early in the investigation, after police learned he left the house around 1:30 in the afternoon. He was located by Rochester police, inside the Greyhound Bus Station on Cumberland Street in Rochester. The suspect was returned to Buffalo, and questioned by homicide squad detectives.

"This was a truly coordinated effort - within our agency between the district officers, Homicide Squad and Sex Offense Squad detectives, as well as communicating the fact that the subject may have fled the area.

Rochester officers were able to find the subject, based on his description, and arranged to turn him over to Buffalo detectives", said chief of detectives Dennis J. Richards. Police had released a photo and description of the suspect to the media, as well.

Mattox was charged by Detectives Anthony Borrelli and Mario T. Pratts with murder in the second degree. Sgt. James P. Lonergan, Detectives James A. Lema, Reginald Minor and Salvatore A. Valvo assisted in the investigation leading up to the arrest.
