BPD Add 22 New Officers to the Department

 Mayor Byron Brown and Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda welcomed 22 new police officers to the force at a graduation ceremony Friday afternoon at ECC-City campus.

Seven other police agencies also graduated officers during the commencement exercises of the 121st Basic Course for Police Officers.

Mayor Brown congratulated the new officers and thanked them for their commitment to improving the quality of life for the residents of the City of Buffalo.

Commissioner Derenda added that the officers have a difficult job but also one that is very rewarding.

The new officers will now take part in field training operations and are scheduled to officially hit the streets in the fall.
