Buffalo Police Investigate Second Homicide of 2012

Buffalo police are continuing their investigation into a double shooting incident that occurred eleven days ago, which has now resulted in the death of one of the victims.

On January 8, at around 6:30pm, investigating police learned that two men were shot while in a vehicle in the vicinity of Wohlers Avenue and Dodge Street. "The 25 year old homicide victim had just gotten into a vehicle on the passenger side, when an unknown suspect opened fire," according to Dennis J. Richards, chief of detectives.

Several shots were fired into the vehicle and both the driver and passenger were struck, according to Richards.

The driver, Demario D. Woodard, 26 , of Buffalo, was able to drive to Buffalo General Hospital after being struck.

His front seat passenger, Adrian L. Huggins Jr., also of Buffalo, was transferred to the Erie County Medical Center, where he expired earlier this morning.

Police were told the lone gunman was a light skinned black male, in his mid teens about 5'2" who was wearing a black jacket with a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath, blue jeans and black and white boots. The suspect had fled the scene on foot, east on Dodge Street.

Homicide Squad detectives continue to investigate the shooting incident, and police ask that anyone with information contact the Confidential TIPCALL Line at 847-2255 or Text a Tip to (716)847-2255, or utilize the department's website
