Latest On Snow Situation in S.Buffalo - Lovejoy

According to the city's Department of Public Works, it is now estimated that 8,000 truckloads of snow have been removed from the affected South Buffalo and Lovejoy neighborhoods and transported to the dump site at the corner of Abbey Street and South Park Avenue (the old Republic Steel property now known as Steelfields and owned by the Buffalo Urban Development Corporation).

Estimates now indicate that as many as 10,000 truckloads of snow will be transported from these neighborhoods to that site by Monday, December 6th

The City continues removing snow from streets and sidewalks. Residents are asked to use caution when both driving and walking. At some intersecions, snow on the sidewalks remains high and visibility can be affected. Mayor Byron W. Brown and Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda have police patrols monitoring key intersections in the South Buffalo-Lovejoy area to help ensure the safety of kids going to school and to keep buses and other traffic moving. Any resident with a question regarding the snow is asked to cal 311.
