BPD Make Arrest in Elmwood Avenue Fatal Stabbing

Buffalo Police Homicide Detectives have arrested two people in connection with the robbery-murder of a 61 year old Buffalo man.

Detectives have arrested 30 year old Robert Mills of Buffalo and charged him with murder in the 2nd degree and first degree robbery.

Police say that Mills robbed and then stabbed Anthony LoCascio to death in the victim’s Elmwood Avenue apartment.

The victim’s body was discovered by an apartment employee in the morning hours of May 25th of this year.

“I have said it before and I’ll say it again. We will be relentless when it comes to bringing to justice people who commit violent acts like this”, Mayor Byron W. Brown said.

The Mayor added, “Our homicide detectives spent a lot of time and energy on each and every case and I’m pleased that their hard work has paid off in another arrest”.

Homicide Detectives have also arrested 24 year old Cherie Utter of no permanent address and charged her with robbery in connection with the incident.

“The outstanding investigative work that the Homicide Squad performs on a daily basis once again resulted in an arrest”.

Detective Sgt. James Lonergan led the investigation. He was assisted by Detective Scott Malec and other members of the Buffalo Police Homicide Squad.
