BPD Arrest Suspect in Leroy Avenue Fatal Shooting

Buffalo Police have made an arrest following a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday evening, January 8th, in the 300 block of Leroy Avenue. 33 year old Alexis Harper passed away late Thursday night at ECMC. Detectives believe he was shot in the abdomen area around 5:30pm following some type of scuffle with the suspect.

A second person was also shot in the incident. A 16 year old female from Buffalo was treated and released from ECMC after being shot in the leg area.

Homicide Detectives have arrested 19 year old Anthony Dean of Buffalo. Dean was originally charged with attempted murder in the 2nd degree and criminal possession of a weapon. It's anticipated that the attempted murder charge will be upgraded to murder in the 2nd degree.

Buffalo Police did recover a small caliber weapon near the scene of the shooting.
