Rewards Offered For Suspect Who Shot At Officer

Two rewards have been set up in connection with a late November armed robbery where the suspect shot at an on-duty Buffalo police officer.

Crimestoppers and the Police Benevolent Association each are offering a $1,000.00 reward in leading to the arrest of the individual responsible.

The incident occurred Wednesday, November 25th, at approximately 4:50pm at the Auto Zone auto parts store in the 1200 block of Broadway.

The suspect, described as light-skin black male about 5'0 to 5'4 tall was in the progress of robbing the store when the officer walked in.

When the officer arrived at the store, he was unaware that the store was being held up at the time.

After the officer entered the store, the suspect drew his gun and fired two shots at the police officer.

The officer dove out of the way as both shots missed him.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money and fortunately no one inside the store at the time was injured.

Initially the suspect fled on foot but police are looking into the possibility that he might've gotten into a gray Dodge Durango a short time later.

Also, Buffalo police released three surveillance photos in connection with the robbery. The suspect was wearing a distinctive dark jacket, either black or blue in color with white stripes.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of this individual is asked to call Crimestoppers at 856-5600 or Buffalo police at 851-4412
