BPD Searching for Suspects in U.B. Student Homicide

A 23 year old Bronx man was killed in the vicinity of Main Street and Lisbon Avenue, early Sunday morning. The victim had graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo, on Saturday.

The victim has been identified as Javon Jackson.

Northeast District officers and University at Buffalo police found the man, apparently shot, at about 3:15AM.

He was rushed to Erie County Medical Center, by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene, and began an immediate investigation.

The victim's family was in Buffalo for the Saturday graduation ceremony. "His father and mother were so proud to have their son graduate from college. Now, they are distraught beyond words, and questioning why anyone would kill their son," said Dennis J. Richards, chief of detectives.

Police are looking into the motive, and circumstances surrounding the murder, and asking for anyone with information to call the TIPCALL number - 847-2255.
