One House Leads to Seven Arrests

Buffalo Police Narcotics Squad detectives have arrested seven people in one house on the west side of the city. Officers executed two search warrants in the upper and lower residences of 236 Whitney Place late Thursday morning, and found cocaine, heroin, marijuana, packaging materials, and a quantity of pills between the two apartments. Over $2800.00 cash was also seized during the investigation. A total of five men and two women were arrested in the raids between the two residential units.

Under the direction of Lt. Thomas R. Lyon and Detective Sergeant Brenda Callahan-Moll, detectives arrested 25 year old Angel Gauthier of Plymouth Ave., and charged him with felony possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and a public health law violation of controlled substances outside their proper container. Police charged him with possession of fifty bags of heroin as well as a number of pills and packaging materials, while he was in the lower apartment.

Seizing an eighth ounce of cocaine, packaging materials and a scale in the upper apartment, police charged the following with felony and misdemeanor possession of controlled substances, possession with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of marijuana: 28 year old Rafael Rivera, who listed the apartment as his address, and 35 year old Nery Colon also of 236 Whitney upper, 58 year old Juan Catalan of Virginia St., 23 year old Jakciry Jimenez of Page St., 29 year old Jose Pesante of Prospect Ave., and 30 year old Luis Montanez of Riverside Ave.

Thus far there have been 654 search warrants executed, throughout the city.
