BPD Continue Crackdown in University District

Buffalo Police continue their crackdown in the University District with the arrest of three more individuals. The latest arrests happened late Sunday afternoon around 5pm. Buffalo Police arrested a 16 year old and two juveniles and charged them with a slew of charges including robbery in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. Police are currently looking for a fourth suspect.

Police say the four tried to rob a male of his gold chain at gunpoint on LaSalle Avenue right around 5 o'clock. The victim refused to give up the chain and the four suspects fled on foot into McCarthy Park. Minutes later the four tried to rob another victim at gunpoint in the park. A struggle ensued between the suspects and the victim with the suspects taking off on foot.

A short time later, Buffalo Police arrested three of the suspects, 16 year old Kamau Brown of Buffalo and two male juveniles. Buffalo Police added more patrols in the University District area over a month ago after noticing an increase in robberies. The extra patrols have helped solve a number of recent robbery cases in that area. Police believe some of the suspects may be responsible for more than one incident.
