Buffalo Police Investigate Hagen Street Homicide

Buffalo Homicide Squad Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a fourteen year old girl who was gunned down last night. Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood in search of anyone with information on the shooting.

The incident occurred just before 8:30 last night in the 200 block of Hagen St.

Dead at the scene is Nancylia Salter, of Gerald St., Buffalo, NY.

Injured at the same time was a 13 year old (Jerome Ingram), who lives on Hagen St. and who was taken to Women and Children's Hospital for injuries suffered.

Preceding the incident was a confrontation described by some as a group of individuals about to fight each other.

A number of shots were fired, and we know that the two youths were struck. Ms. Salter was struck fatally.

Buffalo Police are looking for three black males who were seen on bicycles right after the incident. Police are calling them "persons of interest".

Anyone with information is asked to call the confidential TIPCALL hotline at 847-2255.

This was the 28th homicide in the city this year. Last year at this time, there were 35.
