Suspect in 7th Street Shooting Arrested

Eric Ramos-Roman(aka

Arrested, Eric Ramos-Roman (aka "Bebo")

Buffalo Police Homicide Detectives have arrested 22 year old Eric Ramos-Roman in connection with the shooting death of 35 year old Luis A. Medina.  Roman(aka "Bebo") surrendered to Buffalo Police Homicide Detectives late Thursday afternoon. Ramos-Roman is charged with murder in the second degree and was expected to be arraigned Friday morning in Buffalo City Court. Of the 7 homicides this year in the City of Buffalo, 5 have already been cleared by arrests. Homicide Detectives believe Roman shot Medina at around 9pm Tuesday night in an upper apartment in the 400 block of 7th Street. Police identified Roman as a "person of interest" on Wednesday.  Police also think the media attention played a part with Roman turning himself in.

Detectives say, the victim, 35 year old Luis A. Medina of Niagara Street, was shot at around 8:45pm Tuesday night in an upper apartment in the 400 block of 7th Street.

An autopsy confirmed that Medina died from a gunshot wound to the chest area. Chief of Detectives, Dennis J. Richards, said the victim was taken to Buffalo General Hospital in a private vehicle, after he was shot. Medina was pronounced dead at the hospital.
