BPD and Cheektowaga PD Link Convenience Store Robberies

The Buffalo Police Department and Cheektowaga Police Department say one person is most likely responsible for two convenient store robberies in Buffalo and Cheektowaga last week. Investigators from the Buffalo and Cheektowaga police department's are working with other agencies to see if the suspect may also be responsible for a string of store robberies in Amherst, Kenmore and the Town of Tonawanda.

The robberies in Buffalo and Cheektowaga both happened on Monday evening, January 21st, less than an hour apart. The suspect first struck at the Noco Express Shop at 1635 Kensington Avenue in Cheektowaga just after 8:30pm. And then at about 9:30pm, authorities now believe the same suspect robbed the Wilson Farms Store at 481 Abbott Road in South Buffalo. In each case, the robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Detectives from both Buffalo and Cheektowaga police departments believe the same suspect probably committed both robberies. They say the perpetrator in both cases was a male, around 5'9" TO 6'0" tall, wearing a tan or yellow colored jacket with a hood. The hood has fur around it and there is an emblem on the left chest of the jacket. In both cases, the suspect's face was also covered up.
