Arrests Continue From Operation Third Strike

Buffalo police announced that two of the remaining five suspects wanted in Operation Third Strike have been arrested. According to police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge, suspects Ramone Perry and Darryl Parker have surrendered to authorities earlier Thursday, to face their charges on federal indictment warrants.

Police had targeted a total of 30 individuals who were involved in drug trafficking around the city. One suspect was already in jail before the round up sweep began, and police have arrested a total of 27 out of the thirty indicted individuals.

Dubbed Operation Third Strike, due in part to the recent number of large scale joint round-ups, involving illegal drug suppliers and dealers. "This leaves just three suspects outstanding at this time," said Dennis J. Richards, chief of detectives. "We are grateful to the media and the public for their involvement. Many neighbors expressed their gratitude to the officers taking part in the early morning raids on Tuesday," Richards said.

Police released photos of the wanted suspects through the media, and continue to ask for information on the whereabouts of the outstanding suspects. The suspect still outstanding is Anthony Watkins. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Operation Third Strike was the result of a three month joint police operation involving the Buffalo Narcotics Squad, federal Drug Enforcement Agency and other local law enforcement agencies.

Narcotics Most Wanted
