BPD Link Arrests to Convenient Store

Buffalo Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery of a Burger King restaurant on Wednesday evening on South Park Avenue. Authorities also now believe the same two men are responsible for the robbery of at least one convenient store and possibly more.

It all unfolded around 7:30pm Wednesday night when the two suspects held up the Burger King store in the 2300 block of South Park Avenue. After the suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of money, they took off in a vehicle. But that's when an alert citizen helped out authorities. The individual followed the suspects for a short time where the two were eventually stopped by Lackawanna Police. After the suspects were returned to Buffalo, they were arrested in connection with the Burger King robbery.

It wasn't long after that, that Buffalo Police then linked the two to a robbery of a Wilson Farms store on Abbott Road back on January 21st. Arrested were 21 year old Edward New III of Buffalo and 30 year old Thomas Williams III, also of Buffalo. The two face numerous charges including robbery, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal use of a firearm.

Authorities in Buffalo are now working with other agencies in Amherst, Cheektowaga, Kenmore and the Town of Tonawanda to see if the two are responsible for other similiar store robberies in the past few months.

Buffalo Police want to thank citizens for coming forward and helping authorities. Police remind everyone, that the best way to help, is to call 9-1-1 immediately, if you see something suspicious.
