Mayor Brown Demonstrates Portable Surveillance Camera System
Dec-30-2008 — Mayor Brown and Police Commissioner Gipson today demonstrated the city's portable surveillance camera, which will be used by the Buffalo Police Department during the First Night and New Year's Eve Ball Drop events in Downtown Buffalo.

Mayor Brown Announces Record Number of Arson Arrests
Dec-11-2008 — Mayor Byron W. Brown today announced a new record for arson arrests in the City of Buffalo. The total number of arson arrests for 2008 has reached 126, which makes an increase of 75% of arson arrests since 2006 (72 arrests). In addition, the number of arsons in Buffalo has fallen 35% since 2006 (480 arsons in 2006 versus 313 arsons-to-date in 2008).

Dec-05-2008 — Buffalo Police have charged a man in connection with the early morning shooting death of a 26 year old male. The shooting occurred just after 2:30am Friday morning in the 900 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Nov-24-2008 — Buffalo Police are investigating an early morning bank robbery at the HSBC branch on Genesee St., just after 9:15am this morning. Police believe the suspect walked into the bank at 2016 Genesee St. and then handed the teller a note, demanding money.
