Officers Track Down Purse Snatcher

Two Buffalo Police Officers from "B" District came to the rescue of a North Street woman who had her purse snatched early Sunday morning on College Street near Allen. At about 1:40am the woman yelled to a nearby Officer "get him he's running away". That's when Officers William Drabik and Steve Schulz began chasing the suspect through back yards and over fences. The Officers finally apprehended the suspect in a back yard on Arlington Place.

The suspect, 35 year old Bryan Vail of North Street, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property and obstructing governmental administration. The victim and suspect live at different addresses on North Street.

Not only did the Officers catch the suspect, but another Officer, William Rieman, recovered the woman's purse with all of the contents still in place.
